Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad, present in the country since the early 1960s, opened a new RM355m 'smart factory' on a 46-acre site in the Bandar Enstek Halal Hub, Negeri Sembilan, completed December 2022 to mark its 60th anniversary. The green-certified plant uses automation and digitalisation to boost efficiency; the company has held JAKIM halal certification since 1965 and was named Best Malaysian Halal Certification Holder in 2021.
