Araku Coffee, launched in 2010 as the for-profit arm of the Naandi Foundation (active in the region since 1999), sources single-origin, GI-tagged Arabica from over 150,000 tribal farmers across roughly 250,000 acres of the Eastern Ghats' Araku Valley, Andhra Pradesh. Individual micro-plots were mapped for soil and shade, making Araku the world's first terroir-mapped coffee, grown on India's largest certified-organic, fair-trade plantation.
