Chatime Malaysia, run under Taiwan's La Kaffa International (founded by Henry Wang in 2005), opened its first Malaysian outlet in August 2010, with Malaysia briefly accounting for nearly half of Chatime's global revenue. After La Kaffa terminated its franchise agreement with local operator Loob Holding in January 2017, roughly 160 outlets were rebranded as Tealive; Chatime has since re-entered Malaysia independently with app-based ordering and loyalty.
