ChaTraMue traces its roots to a Chinese-immigrant family tea shop, Lim Meng Keeat, opened in Bangkok's Chinatown in 1925; the ChaTraMue brand dates to 1945, when wartime supply disruptions pushed the family toward Thai-style iced milk tea. Run by Cha Thai International/Tiptari, its distinctive orange Thai tea holds roughly 70% of Thailand's branded tea market and has expanded into franchises across Asia, the UK and US.
