Description
The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), a state-owned manufacturer, was established on 11 May 2008 and is headquartered in Pudong, Shanghai. It markets the ARJ21 regional jet (rebranded C909 in November 2024), developed from earlier AVIC work, and the narrow-body C919, which seats up to 168 passengers and completed its maiden flight on 5 May 2017. COMAC is positioned as China's answer to the Airbus-Boeing duopoly in commercial aviation.
