Description
Connected Robotics (コネクテッドロボティクス), founded in Tokyo in 2014 by Tetsuya Sawanobori (a Tokyo University/Kyoto University graduate) after his own burnout working in a restaurant kitchen, builds a lineup of kitchen robots: the OctoChef takoyaki robot, a dual-arm soba noodle boiling-and-rinsing robot, the Reita soft-serve ice cream machine, and an AI dishwashing robot, with a breakfast-cooking robot (Loraine) in development. It uses a hybrid business model of equipment purchase plus a roughly ¥250,000/month rental subscription.
