State-owned shipyard in Dalian, tracing its roots to 1898; the modern entity formed in 2005 by merging Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co. and Dalian New Shipbuilding Industry Co. Part of CSSC, the world's largest shipbuilding group. DSIC builds large tankers, bulk carriers, container ships and LNG carriers, and is a key builder of PLA Navy warships, including aircraft carriers. Revenue is roughly RMB 20 billion, assets around RMB 100 billion.
