Description
Shanghai Disney Resort opened on 16 June 2016 as a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company and the state-owned Shanghai Shendi Group (roughly 57% Chinese ownership, 43% Disney). It is the first Disney park on mainland China and the ninth Disney park in the world, with the project representing an investment of about US$5.5 billion. The resort's first phase covers roughly 963 acres (about 390 hectares) in Pudong, making it one of the largest foreign investment projects in Shanghai's history.
