Description

Doublestar Group (双星集团) is a state holding company in Qingdao, Shandong, founded in 1921; once focused on footwear and apparel, it pivoted fully to tires after a 2008 restructuring, having acquired Huaqing Tire (2001) and Dongfeng Tire (2005). Since 2014 it has pursued smart manufacturing, building the world's first fully automated 'Industry 4.0' tire factory in 2016. The group has also expanded into robotics and holds stakes in Kumho Tire.
