Description
Alibaba Group's instant-delivery platform, founded in 2008 as Ele.me (饿了么) and rebranded in 2025 to Taobao Shangou / Taobao Instant Commerce (淘宝闪购) as part of a merger into a unified Taobao shopping experience. It combines food delivery, instant retail and in-store/offline merchant fulfillment, targeting 30–60 minute delivery via Ele.me's rider network ("city knights"), and surpassed 40 million daily orders within a month of the 2025 relaunch. It competes with Meituan and JD.com in China's instant-retail/local-services market.
