Founded in 2015 by Vietnamese entrepreneur Vu Van with speech-recognition expert Xavier Anguera, ELSA uses AI to assess and correct English pronunciation for language learners. Winner of the SXSW 2016 startup competition. Has raised over $60 million from investors including Google, Monk's Hill Ventures and SIG, and launched the generative-AI-powered ELSA AI Tutor in 2023.
