Foxconn, formally Hon Hai Precision Industry, was founded in Taipei in 1974 by Terry Gou and is the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer (EMS). It is Apple's primary iPhone assembler, operating giant plants including the Zhengzhou 'iPhone City,' and also makes servers, EVs (via Foxtron) and semiconductors. Listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, it employs roughly one million workers worldwide and reported revenue above $220 billion in 2023.
