GEM Co., Ltd. was founded 28 December 2001 in Shenzhen and listed in Shenzhen in January 2010. It recycles spent lithium-ion batteries, e-waste and cobalt-nickel materials into NCM/NCA precursors and cobalt oxide. From 2017-2019 it ranked first worldwide in precursor sales, holding roughly 20% of the global market. Capacity includes up to 230,000 tonnes/year of precursors and remanufacturing of up to 200,000 EV battery packs and 3 GWh yearly.
