Description

Greentown China (绿城中国) was founded in Hangzhou in 1995 by Song Weiping, known for high-quality residential design, and listed on HKEX in 2006 (ticker 3900). China Communications Construction Group, a central state-owned enterprise, became its controlling shareholder around 2015 with a stake above 28%, turning Greentown into a mixed-ownership developer. It has concentrated on higher-tier cities like Hangzhou and Beijing, largely avoided the offshore defaults common among peers, and expanded its construction-management (代建) and property services businesses.
