Description
Kewpie was founded in 1919 by Toichiro Nakashima as Shokuhin Kogyo Co.; in 1925 it launched KEWPIE Mayonnaise, Japan's first commercially sold mayonnaise, packed in glass jars. Today Kewpie is Japan's leading maker of mayonnaise, dressings and processed vegetables, recognizable by its cherub 'Kewpie doll' mascot. Its factories deploy computer-vision and AI inspection to sort raw vegetables, a process shown on the 'Mayo Terrace' visitor route.
