Little Sheep is a Mongolian hot pot restaurant chain founded in 1999 in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, by Zhang Gang and Chen Hongkai; at its peak it ran 375 restaurants across China, Hong Kong, Japan, Canada and the US. Yum! Brands bought a 20% stake for $63 million in 2009 and acquired the company outright for $586 million in 2011. The brand is now owned by Yum China, spun off from Yum! Brands in 2016.
