Description
Matrix Robotics (上海矩阵超智), founded in Shanghai in April 2024 by Zhang Haixing, former head of Tesla's China Design Center who worked on Optimus, the Robovan and autonomous-taxi programs. Its flagship MATRIX-1 is a full-size biped humanoid, 1.8m tall and 67kg, with 77 body degrees of freedom plus 22 in its hands, capable of opening doors, face recognition and precise object manipulation. It made its global debut at WAIC 2025 and is positioned as a direct rival to Figure AI.
