Description

NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone) is Japan's largest telecommunications holding company, formed in 1985 through the privatization of the state telephone corporation, headquartered in Tokyo. The group includes NTT Docomo, NTT East/West, NTT Communications and NTT Data, employs roughly 340,000 people, and reported about ¥13.7 trillion in revenue for fiscal 2025. Since 2023 NTT has developed tsuzumi, its own large language model available in compact 0.6B and 7B parameter versions, optimized for Japanese-language processing, low power consumption and single-GPU on-premise deployment; an upgraded tsuzumi 2 was released in 2025.
