Description
The China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone was formally established on 29 September 2013 with an initial area of 28.78 sq km (covering Waigaoqiao, Yangshan Port and Pudong Airport) — China's first free trade zone and a testbed for investment, trade and financial reforms. Lujiazui, Jinqiao and Zhangjiang were added in 2015, and in August 2019 the Lingang New Area was launched with a start-up zone of about 119.5 sq km, making the FTZ Shanghai's largest platform for economic opening-up.
