Description

Takashimaya is a Japanese premium department store chain tracing its history to 1831, when Shinshichi Iida opened a small cotton-goods and kimono shop in Kyoto; the modern limited-liability company was established in 1919. Its large Osaka and Tokyo Nihombashi stores opened in 1932–1933 and remain in operation; the chain now runs 13 domestic stores. For the fiscal year ended 28 February 2025, consolidated operating revenue was about ¥498.5 billion.
