Description
Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory (Lingang New Area) is the company's first overseas vehicle plant and China's first wholly foreign-owned automaker. It produces the Model 3 and Model Y, with capacity exceeding 950,000 vehicles per year and component localization above 95%. The site is Tesla's largest global production hub and main export base, accounting for roughly half of the company's worldwide output; it produced its four-millionth vehicle in December 2025.
