Tongwei Group grew out of an aquaculture-feed firm founded in 1992, based in Chengdu, Sichuan. It spans agriculture (feed, aquaculture) and green energy (polysilicon, solar cells), pioneering an 'integration of fishery and PV' model. After a 2024 Yunnan expansion, polysilicon capacity reached 650,000 tons/year and solar cell capacity about 90 GW; Tongwei has led solar cell output worldwide for seven years, ranking 467th on the Fortune Global 500.
