PT Ultrajaya Milk Industry was founded in 1975 in Bandung by Sabana Prawirawidjaja, building on his father's earlier home milk-bottling business. It was the first Indonesian company to adopt UHT (ultra-high-temperature) processing and aseptic Tetra Pak packaging, solving the country's persistent problem of milk spoiling quickly. Listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, it remains a pioneer and one of the largest long-life dairy producers.
