Description

Founded in 1987 in Hangzhou when Zong Qinghou borrowed 140,000 yuan to sell ice pops and stationery to schoolchildren, Wahaha grew into China's largest privately owned beverage conglomerate, with roughly 150 subsidiaries, 60 production bases and about 60,000 employees. Its portfolio spans AD calcium milk, bottled water and juices; group sales reached RMB 51.2 billion in 2022. Zong died in February 2024.
