Description
Yunnan Baiyao's formula was invented in 1902 by herbalist Qu Huanzhang as a hemostatic wound powder; the state-run Yunnan Baiyao Factory was established in Kunming in 1956, and the ingredients remained a guarded state secret until a 2010 US FDA/Amazon disclosure listed active components, including tranexamic acid. In 2009 quality tests found mold contamination in some pill/capsule batches, triggering a widely reported "Quality Gate" scandal, and other markets (Hong Kong, Singapore) issued recalls over undisclosed ingredients. FY2024 group revenue was about CNY 40 billion.
