Envision Energy signed $1.1 billion in deals in four months — and is building a plant in Kazakhstan

远景能源 / Envision Energy — one of China's largest wind turbine and energy storage system manufacturers — rolled out a network of international projects in 2026 whose geographic spread stands out even against an already export-heavy Chinese energy sector. In April, the company signed a $500 million project financing agreement with Spanish bank BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking, specifically for international expansion focused on Europe, Asia, and Latin America. In just the first four months of 2026, the company signed contracts totaling $1.1 billion.

Manufacturing closer to the customer

In Jetysu, Kazakhstan, Envision is building a production base with total investment of $40 million, slated to come online in Q3 2026. The site's capacity is 2 GW of wind turbines (250 units) and 1 GWh of energy storage systems (about 100 sets), with 60% of output going to the local market and 40% exported to Central Asia and the Caucasus. It's a fundamentally different export approach than shipping finished equipment directly from China: local manufacturing cuts logistics costs and puts the company closer to regional customers.

Major projects in Europe and Asia

In Germany and the UK, the company is executing three energy storage partnerships totaling more than 2.1 gigawatt-hours of combined capacity. In Vietnam, Envision secured a 200 MW nearshore wind contract for the Phu Cuong 1A and 1B project — the company's largest wind project in Vietnam and its largest overseas nearshore development to date.

What this says about the maturity of Chinese energy

The combination of project financing from a Western bank, local manufacturing in Central Asia, and major contracts across Europe and Southeast Asia simultaneously shows that Chinese renewable energy manufacturers have stopped being mere on-demand equipment suppliers and are becoming full-fledged international energy project developers with their own financing and local presence.
